Why Chris is the one to vote for

With 9-years experience on Palmerston North City Council, and having represented the city on Horizon's Passenger Transport Committee, as well as on various working groups and national executive committees, he has a wealth of local government and governance experience. He has also led the Water Protection Society for over 4 years and has helped to get councils to better treat their wastewater and to discharge less of it to rivers and more to land.

Chris has a background in science. He earned a PhD in ecology and agriculture from the University of Nebraksa after completing a Bachelor's at Massey and a Master's at Lincoln. A lot of Horizons most important work  is strongly science-based and Chris is well-equipped to understand it. He's  able to make better decisions as a result. He doesn't just accept whatever he is told. Instead he questions to obtain clearer, fuller understanding. Chris is always learning, currently studying 3 languages, and is always open to new ideas.

Chris is hard-working,  has a strong set of moral principles and stands up for what he believes. You can expect him to continue showing these qualities if you elect him to Horizons Regional Council.

Elect Chris to Horizons Regional Council and he'll be able to do even more for you, cleaning up our waterways, enhancing the sustainability of the way land is used,  improving regional transport and keeping Horizons accountable.
